In October I will give 4 poem masterclasses to Amstelveeners aged 14 - 27. These poems will be collected in a poetry collection: Amstelveense Jeugd. This collection will be printed in an edition of 5,000 and distributed free of charge in Amstelveen and published on the internet. (Your poem may also be included in the collection anonymously)
No boring Sinterklaas poems of course! But POWER POETRY. Together we will write a poem, angry, sad, funny; anything goes as long as it is full of emotion and power!

MASTERCLASS POWER POETRY
We start around 7:30 PM, music on, a drink, accessible and I will help you get started writing a poem. There are no rules. Nothing is right or wrong. As long as you enjoy it.

Unique poem project for young people
From today, young people can register for a unique poem project for free. Never before has there been such a project on this scale in Amstelveen. No fewer than 5,000 poetry collections will be distributed for free in Amstelveen at the beginning of December. The collection contains poems by Amstelveen youth aged 14 to 27.
Hans Breuker, known for the poetry collection Amstelveense Nachten, will give four Power Poetry Masterclasses in October. The poems are collected in the collection: Amstelveense Youth. A wonderful project to introduce Amstelveen youth to their own creativity.
Hans Breuker: “No, no doggerel Sinterklaas poems. But scroll-stopping power poetry, short and concise. Straight to the core. Funny, angry or sad. Writing poems is great and I hope to convey that and create a beautiful collection together with the participants. I really want to show a glimpse into the soul of the youth.”
This large-scale project was partly realized in collaboration with the Municipality of Amstelveen.
Herbert Raat (councillor for culture): “Culture is one of the pillars of our society. Such a project affects our policy to involve young people in culture on several points. They come into contact with poetry in an accessible way that stimulates their creativity. We are happy to contribute to such an ambitious project.”
